Another great meeting
on Tuesday, September
18, 2007. The theme was
"Shape Up"!
Shannon, TM, began by asking the group what the word "Shape
Up" meant to them. Responses varied from improving health to developing and growing spiritually, physically and mentally.
The theme was selected to piggyback on International Director’s Chris Ford theme for 2007-2008 "Shaping Ourselves…Shaping
Our World" – featured in the September issue of Toastmasters magazine. The word of the day was Fructify –
v. 1.) to bear fruit; 2.) to make fruitful or productive. We had one speaker. Manh provided her fourth speech titled, ‘"
Why I don’t want to go back to Vietnam". She did a wonderful job sharing three points why she’s not interested
in going back to Vietnam with her father and other family members for a visit. Great job Manh.
Leza
led the Table Topics section and asked the question, "Who is the most unique person in your family and why". As
usual the responses were lively and Kathleen Casey walked away with the Best Table Topics ribbon for the evening. It was great
to have 7 members in attendance!
